Washington green thumbs to participate in plant swap fundraiser

A plant swap can be a boon to thrifty gardeners and also those who would like to meet others who enjoy the hobby, and one of these activities will be on offer in Washington this spring.

Global Conservation force, which is an organization that works to preserve endangered species, will be hosting its first ever plant swap funding and awareness raiser at 3 Stars Brewing Co. Its listing explained that it will be a laid back and casual affair with everyone invited to mingle, share plant care tips, and learn how they can be good environmental stewards in their everyday lives.

Those who plan on being part of the activity can bring along rooted cuttings, plant starts, and full-size specimens to trade, and there may even be an auction/sale of rare cultivars and species. All of the monies raised will go to anti-poaching efforts. Any member of the public who cannot attend the function in person can still lend a hand by contributing plants to share.

One of the goals of many not-for-profit groups is to raise awareness about the cause they support. A brochure printing company can supply materials that aid with this.

The first ever Global Conservation Force plant swap is scheduled for May 14. Admission is free, and it will be held at 6400 Chillum Place NW.
