Washington botanic garden plans virtual orchid workshop

Whether they are a phalaenopsis (moth orchid) purchased at the grocery store or a more exotic species, growing orchids can be both fun and challenging. Those who would like to learn more about their care and culture are invited to sit in on an online workshop.

Washington’s United States Botanic Garden has scheduled its quarterly session for orchidophiles, led by subject matter expert George Guenthne. Pre-registration is mandatory, and anyone who has questions about their own plants may submit a photo in advance using the link provided upon registration.

The online listing for the activity explained that it may be useful to both the beginner and advanced grower, and Guenthne will address chosen questions from the attendees. He will also share facts about the group of plants and how to care for them throughout the seasons. It may be helpful to those with specific cultural concerns, and it will offer an opportunity for the participants to get to know other orchid lovers.

Those who enjoy a specific hobby may appreciate the opportunity to learn from an expert. A workshop offers the chance to do so, and a flyer printing company will be happy to craft materials that provide the public with further details.

The United States Botanic Garden has scheduled its Interactive Orchid Q&A with George Guenthne for January 30. A registration link is available on the website.
