Workplace rankings could spell boost for Waterbury businesses

As companies attempt to get up to speed following the pandemic and compete for the best employees, the results of the Hearst CT Top Workplace could be a deciding factor in their success.

Employees, know there is a high demand for workers and that in many cases they can pick and choose among companies ramping up their hiring, evaluate every aspect of a potential employer. A Waterbury company’s workplace culture is included in how prospective employees rate a possible employer, so government agencies, non-profits, publicly traded corporations, and privately owned businesses in the counties of Fairfield, New Haven, and Litchifield have a chance to toot their own horns and participate in the Top Workplace ranking.

Rankings are based on a 24-question survey that reveals how employees feel their ideas and contributions are valued, and whether a culture of competence and teamwork is prevalent in their workplace. Any honors or recognition an organization receives should be included on the promotional materials sent to printing services.

Top Workplace benefits companies in more ways than one. Those recognized have gained a valuable recruitment tool, plus all participating organizations can garner information through their employ surveys that will make them more worker-friendly and raise moral.

Employers with 35 or more employees are eligible for the contest and are divided into small, midsize, and large organizations. Nominations close March 11.
