Playdate provides fun for kids in Waterbury

Parents with children on the spectrum have a fun playdate to look forward to in a few weeks, providing a fun and safe space where Waterbury kids can grow and play.

The Neuroplay Experience, which is being presented by The Community Hope Project, is opening its doors to parents with children on the autism spectrum for a day of fun, play, and new friendships. The welcoming space is open to children between the ages of 3 and 10, with the playground designed especially for kids on the spectrum.

The event will be held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, moving forward, allowing parents to add it to their Calendars. Children who attend will have a setting where they can move, play, and discover themselves. Poster printing is a wonderful and warm way to increase awareness of such events in the community, increasing participation and excitement.

The idea came from two mothers who are raising children on the autism spectrum. Parents can watch their young ones run, bounce, and explore at the host site. Parents can relax and share inspirational stories while their children play, leading to new friendships and sources of support.

The North End Recreation Center in Waterbury will host the play sessions on Saturday, January 10th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Registration is free and open online.
