Juneteenth celebration planned at Waterbury City Hall

The Waterbury City Hall has announced that it will be hosting a Juneteenth celebration for the surrounding area next month, bringing the town’s community together.

The City of Waterbury Juneteenth Celebration and Flag Raising has an official date on the city’s events calendar, allowing area residents to celebrate the strength of Black culture, resilience, and freedom. The gathering is being organized by the Waterbury Juneteenth Collective, with the organization using the holiday to remember the historic moment when the last enslaved Africans in the United States learned of their freedom in 1865.

Attendees can expect an opportunity to witness the flag being raised, followed by a community celebration backed by energetic music. Free food will be available to guests while supplies last, and a marketplace will be set up for vendors and community organizers. A combination of Promotional Products and Business Cards can help these vendors and organizers connect with attendees and make positive impressions.

A moment of reflection will also be held at the gathering, allowing attendees to learn more about and honor the memory and spirit of the Juneteenth holiday. All interested parties are welcome to attend and add to the experience.

The Waterbury City Hall will be the host site for this Juneteenth, which is set for Friday, June 19. Organizers will announce the time in the coming weeks. Attendance is free and open to the public.
