Roller derby bootcamp welcomes skaters in Waterbury

The roller derby season is right around the corner in Waterbury, and residents who have an interest in participating and who wish to get up to speed are in luck.

The CTRD New Skater Bootcamp 2026 will be giving new skaters the chance to get their feet under them and improve their fitness ahead of the upcoming season. Registration has opened online to help these individuals learn more about the world of roller derby, allowing participants to discover a new hobby or passion.

No experience is necessary to sign up, and the bootcamp will be hosted by active skaters from Connecticut Roller Derby. It will feature an immersive learning style that puts these newcomers on skates for focused training under the tutelage of experienced instructors. These instructors will also teach the basic skills necessary for success. Promoters can lean on poster printing to spread the word through a mix of compelling images and informative text.

The program will be held on Thursday nights, with the first session slated for April 16th, and the last set for May 21st. Skates and safety gear are required for those who wish to sign up.

The sessions will be hosted by Roller Magic on Harvester Road in Waterbury. The session will begin at 7:00 PM. Interested parties can enroll in the bootcamp online for $120.
