Charity golf tournament supports Waterbury youth sports

Golfers will want to dust off their clubs and hit the driving range soon, as an upcoming golf tournament is being held in Waterbury to support its youth sports organizations.

The Greater New Haven Baseball Umpires Association Golf Outing has chosen a date for its inaugural tournament, providing an opportunity for area golfers to hit the links for a good cause. The tournament, which will be held rain or shine, will kick off with breakfast sandwiches and coffee to start the morning off right.

The tournament will use a shotgun start with a scramble format, with golfers participating in groups of four. Interested parties can register as solo golfers and will be assigned a foursome upon checking in on the morning of the tournament. Banner printing is an excellent way for golf tournaments and sponsors to create impressions and build brand awareness at such outings.

Prizes will be awarded throughout the day, with top prizes going to the longest drive, closest to the pin, and the first-place team. Guests will have several opportunities to enter raffles for the chance to win more prizes. The tournament is limited to 120 golfers.

The golf tournament fundraiser will be held at the East Mountain Golf Course in Waterbury. It is scheduled for the morning of Monday, September 8th, at 7:00 AM. Registration is $150 per golfer online.
