Waterbury home to new vaccination location

New COVID-19 vaccine sites have been set up across Connecticut, with local clinics being opened in Waterbury and nearby Vernon.

The Waterbury Arts Magnet School is where the city of Waterbury, in conjunction with St. Mary’s Hospital, set up a new mass vaccine clinic. Vaccines are given by appointment only, so residents must call ahead. There should be plenty of slots open as healthcare workers will be administering the vaccine seven days a week.

The Vernon vaccine location is a mobile pop-up clinic in the city’s Rockville section at St. Bernard’s Church. At its launch on January 28, approximately 100 individuals aged 75 or older were vaccinated. Vernon officials are working with congregate housing facilities and places of worship all over town for those in the Phase 1B eligible.

By using banner printing services, finding a vaccination site can be made easier, as can informing the public of who will be eligible for the shot and when.

When these locations opened, the state was in Phase 1B, which means the vaccine appointments were limited to those 75 years or older, healthcare workers, and emergency responders. Appointments can be made by calling Waterbury’s 311 hotline or online via Trinity Health of New England’s website.

East Hartford is home to the biggest mass vaccination clinic in the state, which is located at Rentschler Field. The city of New Haven is home to five vaccination distribution centers.
