After many months of planning, decorating and rehearsal, the North Pole Express, located about 45 miles from Waterbury, will once again be full steam ahead.
The journey takes families on what Essex Steam Train describes as:
“…a magical nighttime journey to the North Pole."
The North Pole Express makes round trips lasting 90 minutes each. On the trip, passengers will be treated to a live musical version of “The Night Before Christmas”, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, sugar cookies and sing-a-longs. Plus, Santa will give each child a small gift. Children are welcome to wear their favorite warm PJs for the journey. To give full information for an event like this, a brochure printing service often comes in handy.
It is recommended by Essex Steam Train that everyone, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or not, should wear a mask whenever they are unable to keep a six-foot social distance. This would include when boarding and deboarding and visiting indoor areas. Unvaccinated passengers will need to wear a mask indoors, including aboard the train.
According to the website:
"We will be following all state and CDC recommendations for masking, sanitizing, and social distancing at the time of your event, so please check in on our website at that time for updates."
Trains run November 19 to December 19 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, as well as Thursday, December 23. First class tickets are $75 each, while coach tickets cost $45.
