The Ion Bank/Mission 22 Fall Festival is coming to Naugatuck later this month and those from nearby Waterbury will want to make sure they attend. The festival is a day to celebrate the season, the official opening of the Whittemore Bridge, and commemorate the fallen heroes of the community.
The Police Pipes and Drums of Waterbury will lead the Mission 22 Procession through the festival to the flagpole, where there will be a moment of silence for those who lost their lives during the past year serving this country.
The entertainment at the festival will include Senator George Logan playing the Star Spangled Banner, Eran Troy Danner, and the 102nd Army Band Ripcord.
There will also be a Mission 22 tent where people will have the chance to meet MMA fighter and native of Connecticut Michael Kimbel. Artists and specialty crafters will also join the festivities.
Activities for children include multiple bounce houses, a 90-foot obstacle course with smaller ones for younger kids, and a kids craft and coloring table. There will be opportunities to meet Arorua the Bald Eagle and other birds of prey.
