The annual Duck Race and Festival is coming to historic downtown Naugatuck, sponsored by the Naugatuck Chamber Division of the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The main feature of the festival is the race of 15,000 rubber ducks down the Naugatuck River. The goal of each duck is to be among the first 25 crossing the finish line and winning prizes for its owner.
There will also be craft and food vendors, games, live music, and other attractions in the downtown area. The products and services of businesses will also be displayed, affording the opportunity to use various types of Promotional Products and even promotional Pens.
The Duck Race and Festival is a fundraiser for the Chamber to help support local civic and school organizations.
Local organizations are invited to sell tickets for the event and will receive 50% of the dollar value sold for their organization or business. Director of the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce, Courtney Ligi, said that selling tickets enables each organization to raise money to support their mission with no cost to them.
Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce Programs Assistant, Alison Amato, added that there is neither a minimum number of tickets to be sold nor a maximum for the Chamber to make this offer to participating organizations.
The 13th annual Duck Day will be held on Sunday, June 3, rain or shine.
