Parents and teens with an interest in learning new crafts may be interested in a parent-teen bladesmithing class that is coming to Waterbury.
The bladesmithing course will allow parents to bond with their teens while forging high-carbon steel blades. Attendees will be instructed on the basics of developing, grinding, and sharpening the blade to ensure the best quality. The instructor will also provide insight into using paracord to create a comfortable grip on the knife.
The parent and teen participants will work toward creating knives individually during the class. Attendees will receive lunch during the midway point of the class as part of the attendance fee. Students are welcome to bring lunch from home or to grab food from a local lunch spot near the course’s venue.
The instructor will assist students in finding a lunch location. Participants are also encouraged to bring plenty of water, as the class can be physically demanding. Appropriate clothing is required for the course, with close-toed shoes and cotton clothing recommended. Brochure printing is a concise way to present the necessary information for courses like this one.
The class will be held at 10 Swiss Lane by Dragon’s Breath Forge on Sunday, January 7th, starting at 9:00am and lasting until 4:00pm. Registration is $370, and interested parties can reserve a spot on the class’s online listing page.
