Middletown to feature scenic run
Eli Cannon's Tap Room will offer the Middletown 10K and 5K Run or Walk this April.
The event will offer participants a course through Wesleyan University’s campus. Runners and walkers will begin on High St, with the 5K looping around the university before finishing on Old Church St. The 10K follows a similar route but includes an additional loop before concluding with a downhill stretch.
All finishers will receive a technical short-sleeved shirt. Following the race, Union Green will host a post-race celebration featuring hot pizza provided by Mondo and beverages for participants 21 and older, provided by Eli Cannon’s Tap Room.
New this year is the Spring 10K Challenge, which encourages participants to complete three races – the Middletown 10K, the Burlington to Collinsville 10K, and the UConn Health 10K. Those who finish all three will earn a commemorative medal.
The event also supports the local neighborhood through HMF Can, a program collecting nonperishable food donations for The Amazing Grace Food Pantry. Proceeds benefit the Susie Beris, MD Youth Running Program, which promotes fitness for young athletes.
Registration fees vary, costing $52 for adults in the 10K and $36 for youths 9 to 17 years old. For the 5K, it is $39 for adults, and $20 for those 5 to 17 years old.
Organizers may utilize banner printing to enhance the appearance of the race routes for events such as this one.
The race will occur on Sunday, April 6, in Middletown, Connecticut, with a post-race gathering at Union Green, 14 Old Church St, Middletown. For parking locations and other information, attendees can visit the Hartford Marathon listing.
