Birding conference to swoop into Middletown

Middletown birding enthusiasts should note that The Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA) 40th Annual Meeting will take place this March.

The COA meeting offers a chance for those interested in birding to come together as a community and access birding resources, such as workshops, CTBirding ListServ, information about birding programs statewide, access to the quarterly journal The Connecticut Warbler, and more valuable knowledge. The in-person meeting will welcome both COA members and non-members to attend, with those yet to join receiving information on the benefits of membership.

There will be three guest speakers featured, with the keynote speaker being Mike Webster of Cornell Lab of Ornithology, who will present the talk “Can Birding Save Birds?” The other two speakers are Marshall Iliff and Rosemary Mosco. The lead sponsor of the meeting is Zeis, who will give a 15-minute presentation relating to its new infrared birding technology. There will also be various birding vendors set up for attendees to peruse and learn about.

Vendors and sponsors of events like this may decide to update their supply of Business Cards, which may lead them to visit local businesses specializing in business card printing.

The birding meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 from 8:00 pm to 3:30 pm. It will be held at CT State Middlesex, which is located at 60 Training Hill Rd, Middletown. Admission is $55 per person.
