Jackie Greene, a former singer and guitarist with the Black Crowes, will be giving a local performance next month.
This will be a new and bigger venue (with a capacity of 640) for Greene, since he played several packed performances at StageOne (capacity of 225) last year. Known for his tenor voice, reminiscent of classic rock, blues, A.M. pop, soul and psychedelia, All Music called the singer “prodigally gifted” while The New York Times has referred to him as “the Prince of Americana”.
Since leaving The Black Crows, the southern California musician, songwriter and vocalist has gone from working in Phil Lesh and Friends, to Trigger Hippy, to making his own solo albums. His ‘Back to Birth’ tour is named after his latest album - one of the six albums he has released since 2000.
Greene believes that these songs on his new album go back to the simplicity that he had at the beginning of his career, and most of the songs are based around the idea that life is cyclical.
Those people who love Americana music and Jackie Greene will want to include information regarding this performance in their music organization’s upcoming newsletter printing and other printed media.
The performance is scheduled for Saturday, February 13 at the Fairfield Theatre Company’s Warehouse, 70 Sanford Street, Fairfield, beginning at 8:00 pm.
