As part of the global Make Music Day, everyone is invited to take part in this year's Make Music Fairfield - Summer Solstice edition.
Local performers of all skill levels and music persuasions can take part, as can anyone who can offer a storefront, porch, lawn or other location, as well as those just wishing to listen.
More than 70 artists including solo artists, theater groups, drum circles, choirs, and bands have agreed to participate. There are 18 venues signed up including Fairfield Museum & History Center, Fairfield Library, SHU Community Theater, Jennings Beach, and Sherman Green Gazebo.
Pocket Park at Fairfield University will be offering rock, classic rock, alternative, a Tom Petty tribute, and the Fairfield University faculty band from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Fairfield University Store will have Celtic music, Americana, folk blues, rock, indie, and jazz from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Alden Street will have pop, jazz, and standards from 12:15 pm to 4:00 pm, and a music theater group will perform from noon to 5:00 pm at Bailey Jaymes Boutique, 1700 Post Road.
All performances will be free to attend.
Promotion for events like this might include using online listings, vinyl Banners, radio ads and arranging promotional poster printing services from local Print shops.
Make Music Fairfield's 9th annual celebration will take place on Sunday, June 21.
