Fairfield Community Services are once again hosting their annual Beach Bunny 5k coming in late March.
The 5k will cost $35 until March 22, $40 from March 23 to 28, and $45 on race day. The 0.8 mile untimed Family Bunny Hop will be free.
Swag will include 50/50 cotton/polyester T-Shirts and race bibs. Running events like this often have local Print shops put event logos on their shirts and paper products.
There will be a new starting line this year, just a little past the Fairfield Beach Club entrance on Fairfield Beach Road. Racers will meet in the Jennings Lot. The 5k will begin at 9:00 am and will be followed by the Family Bunny Hop at 10:15 am.
Awards will go to the winners in 10 age categories. The overall fastest female, male, and non-binary participants will receive special cookie platters from Alina's Cakes and Cookies.
Easter Egg Scrambles will begin at 10:50 am for kids five years old and younger, and at 10:55 am for older kids.
A Bunny Burrow Event Village will be in the Jennings Concession Building and will feature a DJ, a roving magician, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, balloon twisting, and glitter tattoos.
The 2026 Beach Bunny 5k will take place rain or shine on Saturday, March 28 at Jennings Beach, 880 South Benson Road. Dogs and strollers are welcome and costumes are highly encouraged.
