Art museum to present local photography collection

The Fairfield University Art Museum Walsh Gallery will be opening a Connecticut photography exhibition titled “13 Ways of Looking at Landscape” towards the end of March.

This will be the culmination of Larry Silver’s 40 years of camera work exploring Connecticut landscape and regional environs.

The introduction to the opening night lecture for the exhibition is on Thursday, March 24 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and will be by the exhibition’s curator, Leslie K. Brown, PhD. Afterwards, at 6:00 pm, there will be a reception.

The in-person event will take place in the Quick Center for the Arts’ Kelley Theater, 200 Barlow Road. Live streaming will be available using the website thequicklive.com. The museum will also present an arts and crafts event for children ages 4 through 10.

Most of the pieces in the collection are in black and white, and photos like these are often used by Stationery printers for Letterheads, personal Stationery, and notecards.

The tickets will be free but there will be two options. The first 20 subscribers to opt for the local pick-up tickets will receive instructions on how to pick up Bags of supplies at the museum’s Bellarmine Hall Galleries, 200 Barlow Road, and virtual only tickets will be available for the rest.

The exhibition will run for nearly three month, culminating on June 18.
