A skygazing session is being planned for Avon residents who want an opportunity to explore the heavens with expert guidance.
The Skygazing on Talcott Mountain session will begin taking reservations from interested parties in a few weeks. It will offer visitors and residents a way to enjoy the planetarium and receive an immersive and informative learning experience for the entire family. The tour leader will share the celestial bodies visible in the night sky with attendees to teach them more about space and the solar system.
After leaving the planetarium, guests will be led on a short walk outside to the mountaintop’s observatory for a stargazing experience. The event’s guide will have several powerful telescopes set up for attendees to glimpse Venus, Saturn, and the possibility of Draconid meteors. Brochure printing is an excellent way to share information about and promote such events in and around the community.
Interested parties are encouraged to dress warmly and wear layers, as a significant amount of time will be spent outdoors. The gathering is ideal for astronomy enthusiasts and children passionate about science and learning. Organizers will notify registered guests about weather concerns by noon on the event day.
The stargazing and learning session will be held on Thursday, December 5th, at the Talcott Mountain Science Center. Interested parties can purchase tickets online for $25 per adult and $15 per child.
