The Avon Free Public Library is set to host its “Floating Palaces, the Classic Liners” event for all history enthusiasts and maritime lovers.
Its program promises to take participants on a captivating journey through the origins and evolution of passenger ships from the 1840s to the present day.
Presenter Rick Abramson, accompanied by his wife Christine, will guide the audience through an exploration of maritime history. The Abramsons boast extensive experience aboard iconic vessels such as the QE2 and Queen Mary II. From the majestic Lusitania and Mauretania to the ill-fated Titanic and the regal Cunard "Queens," the development of classic liners will be vividly showcased.
Attendees can expect an in-depth account of these great ships' service during World Wars I and II. Furthermore, the program will touch upon the tragic stories of some of these liners, adding a poignant element to the narrative.
Rick will augment his presentation with a captivating display of his personal photographs, including snapshots captured aboard the Queen Mary II. Organizers of events like this can use Stationery printers to produce Print materials and showcase their illustrations to attendees.
