The Golden History Museum will invite author and storyteller Barb Warden to hold a guided tour of the town's cemetery in October.
The Golden Cemetery Tour is an event where people can learn about the past noteworthy residents of the city. Warden will tell stories about the lives of those in the graveyard throughout the excursion. Warden is a writer who has published three Books about the community, including A Guidebook to Golden, Colorado and Funiculars of Golden, Colorado. She also volunteers as a history teacher at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
The Golden History Museum is an educational organization interested in preserving and sharing local history with the community. The attraction was initially known as the Jefferson County Historical Museum. People can support the organization by buying museum memberships ranging between $40 and $1,000. Benefits of being a member include a magazine subscription, a 10% discount on the museum's merchandise, and access to a special members-only page on the museum's website.
The cemetery walking tour will be held on Saturday, October 8 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Museum members can pay $5 to take part in the excursion, while non-members may purchase tickets to Warden's tour for $10.
