Golden to hold mineral exploration symposium

The Colorado School of Mines in Golden will host the Denver Mineral Exploration Symposium in September.

The Denver Mineral Exploration Symposium is an event created by the Center to Advance the Science of Exploration to Reclamation in Mining. The program will include discussions about emerging technology in exploration geology, financial-related topics, and policymaking. The organizers of the conference include Lauren Terry, Thomas Monecke, and Jeff Pontius. The proceeds from the symposium will go to the Dick Hutchinson Field Education Endowment.

There will be many keynote speakers at the conference, like John McConnell, Doug Kirwin, and Antonio Arribas. Attendees can also take part in technical sessions led by presenters such as Thomas Bissig and Stephanie Mills. The presentations at the symposium will include Exploration Success: A Historical Perspective, Understanding Mineral Systems, and The Business of Mining. Guests can go on the London Mine Tour at the end of the conference.

The mineral exploration symposium will be held from September 13th to September 14th. Professional participants in the event can pay $150 for their tickets, and students can attend the conference for free. The cost to join the London Mine Tour will be $80 per person.
