Golden to hold conference on ground penetration

The Colorado School of Mines will be organizing an international conference in June at the Green Center in Golden.

The 19th International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is an event where scientists and engineers can gather to learn about the latest GPR developments. This year, the convention will have special panels covering topics like using GPR to monitor climate change, the relationship between biogeophysics and GPR, and exploring planets. There will also be multiple short courses for guests to attend, including Applications of GPR to Hydrologic Problems and GPR for the non-Geophysicist.

The venue for the conference will have a designated exhibitor area where manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers can set up booths for attendees to browse. Each exhibitor will receive one skirted table, two chairs, and internet access. The cost for businesses to join the convention is $2,500. Companies that require additional booth staff must pay $200 per extra person. Vendors who take part in conferences such as this may utilize promotional Pens as a tool for engaging with visitors.

The event will take place from June 12 to 17. The cost to attend is $720, though people who register before May 3 will receive a discount. Students also can register at a discounted rate for the conference. The price includes admission to the convention’s opening reception, a gala dinner, and refreshments.
