Golden High School will be organizing a community race in September to benefit the Golden Schools Foundation.
The 16th Annual Golden Gallop is a fundraising event where people can compete for awards and cash prizes. The course will take participants through downtown Golden and finish at Golden High School. There are four events that people can join during the fundraiser, including a 5K, 10K, and Kids Fun Run. This year, the organizers will be allowing runners to enter the race with their dogs. Those who are running with a dog must start at the back of the pack.
The Golden Schools Foundation is an organization that provides funding to the seven schools within Golden’s neighborhoods. Last year, the Golden Gallop helped raise $40,000 for local educational facilities. A few of the programs offered by the foundation include the Tish Agos Credit Recovery, Student Academic Summer Boot Camps, and College Scholarship Program. Businesses may help sponsor the organization’s race to have their Logo Design added to the event website.
The Golden Gallop will take place on Sunday, September 18 and will begin at 7:45 am. The 10K will cost $50 to join, and the 5K will cost $45. People can receive discounted registration for signing up for the event early. Those interested in supporting the foundation may purchase finisher medals for $5 or commemorative Mugs for $12.
