Golden event center to hold awards show

The Buffalo Rose Event Center in Golden will be hosting an awards show for the Colorado Blues Society in April.

The 9th Annual Members’ Choice Awards & Honors Committee Presentations is an evening that pays tribute to the talented performers who earned the Lifetime Achievement Award. There are several recipients, including David Booker, Al Chesis, and The Hector Anchondo Band. All guests must follow the venue’s health-related guidelines, such as wearing a mask while dancing or moving through the facility. Those who are performing on stage do not have to put on a face covering.

The Colorado Blues Society is a group interested in preserving Blues heritage while increasing the community’s appreciation of the genre. The organization sponsors the Blues in the Schools programs to help local students experience the art form by listening to musicians. The society also donates Blues-related Books and CDs to libraries. The group works with other non-profits such as The Colorado Music Business Organization and The Blues Foundation.

The awards show will be on Sunday, April 24 and will start at noon. Members of the Colorado Blues Society may enter the event for $15, while non-members can pay $20. All ticket purchases for the show are final and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Organizations in charge of musical events like this may use brochure printing to provide guests with programs.
