The Golden Chamber of Commerce will organize a beer and chili festival in October at Parfet Park.
The Golden Beer Tasting & Chili Cook-Off is a community celebration where people can enjoy unlimited samples of beer and chili. More than 30 beer brands will be featured at the festival, and all guests will be given a souvenir sampling beer glass. Attendees can enjoy live entertainment at the park and purchase additional snacks from on-site vendors. The money raised during the cook-off will support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Golden Chamber.
Those who wish to enter the chili cook-off can join the competition online. The contest is open to all restaurants and individuals. Participants are expected to provide between 10-12 gallons of chili per entry, and all registrants are required to pay a $50 reservation fee. Cooks must bring their own tents, chairs, and tables to the park. The sampling cups, serving ladles, and napkins for the festival will be provided to participants by the Golden Chamber.
The beer tasting and chili cook-off event will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Those who order their tickets online in advance can pay $30 per person, and people who buy tickets at the gate must pay $40.
