The Golden History Museum will educate people about female involvement in the ranching industry during a presentation in January.
Ranching Women of Colorado is an in-person lecture where attendees can discover the stories of women who entered the male-dominated ranching industry during the 19th Century. Linda Wommack, an author and historian, will be giving the presentation. The program is based on her book, which is titled Ranching Women of Colorado: 17 Legendary Ladies.
Wommack is an award-winning writer who has authored 18 Books, such as Growing Up with the Wild Bunch, Colorado’s Historic Schools, and Cripple Creek. She was initially published in 1990 and has been featured in multiple publications, like Wild West Magazine, The Tombstone Epitaph, and True West Magazine.
Other accomplishments made by Wommack include being part of the Western Writers of America for more than 15 years and serving as a Spur Awards in Western Americana literature judge. She is even a member of the Wild West History Association.
The program at the Golden History Museum will be held on Saturday, January 14 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Members of the museum can view Wommack’s presentation for free, though non-members will need to pay a $10 admission fee.
