Shamrock Stampede scheduled for St. Paddys Weekend

Einstein Bros. Bagels will be presenting Castle Rock's 5th Annual Shamrock Stampede in mid-March. The event will include a Lucky 10k, 5k, and a kids’ 1k Sham-Scram run/walk for families.

Registration will be $30 for adults running either the in-person 10k, 5k, or virtual 5k, $20 for children 17 and under running the Lucky 10k or 5K and free for the Sham-Scram. Seniors for those participants 60 and over can purchase tickets for $25.

Swag includes leprechaun finisher medals, tri-blend T-shirts sporting this year’s event graphic design, and racing bibs. Each registered runner will receive a free plate of Flippin’ Flapjacks.

Music pre-race to get everyone in the racing mood, on the course to keep everyone going and post-race to celebrate participants' accomplishments will all culminate at the Irish Sham Jam after party.

After the race everyone is invited to attend the Irish-themed festival.

The Shamrock Stampede has been organized to raise awareness and funds for organizations that aid first responders, veterans, and anyone else suffering from mental illness or PTSD. These include the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Live Free Association, and Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation.

Back to Health Expo starts at 8:30 am, 10k starts at 10:00 am, followed by the 5k and after-party at 10:30 am. Sham-Scram and awards ceremony begin at 11:30 am.

The 5th Annual Shamrock Stampede will take place at the Douglas County Event Center, 500 Fairgrounds Drive on Saturday, March 18.
