Cheap Trick is performing at Castle Rock’s Philip S. Miller Park this August.
Taking place inside the park’s amphitheater, the performance will include an opening act by the Pat Travers Band.
Though they may be known for churning out Billboard-topping hits in the 1970s and 80s, Cheap Trick has continued a steady presence in the musical world, including a break-neck touring schedule that has included more than 6,000 concerts since the band’s formation more than 50 years ago.
With more than 20 million albums sold and a loyal fanbase to boot, Cheap Trick is known for hits like “Surrender,” “Dream Police,” “The Flame” and “I Want You to Want Me.”
Blending elements of thought-provoking lyrics with hard rock riffs, new wave melodies, power ballads, and pop, Cheap Trick first broke into the mainstream with the triple-platinum-selling At Budokan, a live concert album, released in 1979.
The follow-up album, Dream Police, released later that same year, also broke into the Billboard Top 10, and the band continued enjoying occasional hits thereafter, all while amassing a continually growing cult following along the way.
