Runners here in Castle Rock will be able to pick from five running challenges at this year's Castle Rock Trail Festival/liveBIG Run coming in early October.
The liveBIG Family Adventure Run, an obstacle course for families with children from the ages of 5 to 12, will be a 1.5-mile course including a jaunt up Philip S. Miller Challenge Hill. Registration will be $20.
The Philip S. Miller 5k will take participants around and through the park and will cost $35.
The longer runs will be along the Ridgeline Open Space. The 10k will cost $45, the Half Marathon is $65, and the 50k will be $95.
All runners will get T-Shirts featuring the event's graphic design, disposable bibs with timing chips, free photo downloads, drawstring Bags, and refreshments after the race. Awards will go to some of the best performers, broken down by genders and age groups.
Walk-in registration and packet pickup will begin at 6:00 am on race day. The 50k starts at 7:30 am followed by the half marathon at 8:30 am. The 10k begins at 9:00 am with the 5k following at 9:30 am, and the liveBIG Family Adventure Run beginning at 10:30 am.
The Castle Rock Trail Festival and liveBIG Run is scheduled for Saturday, October 5 from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm at 1375 W Plum Creek Parkway.
