Moms get prom, while dads get winter ball

Both moms and dads in Castle Rock have events set up specially for them this month.

Douglas County High School students will be honoring their moms by taking them to their second annual DCHS Mom Prom coming in mid-February. This will be kid friendly and everyone in the surrounding community is invited to attend.

The event will include refreshments, sweet treats, dancing emceed by a local DJ, and other activities, crafts, and games for kids and their moms. Even though there will be a photo booth available for informal shots, a professional photo to commemorate the evening will be emailed to attendees.

Many proud moms will no doubt be taking the photos to nearby Stationery printers to be added to yearly family Calendars and family newsletters.

Tickets cost $25 per person and come with wrist corsages for moms registering before February 8, along with dessert, gifts, and entries into the evening’s drawings. A physical ticket will be mailed after registration as a keepsake.

Mom Prom 2023 is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 11. The event will take place at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Event Center, 500 Fairgrounds Road.

Also, daughters and dads, as well as mothers and sons, will be dancing in a forest among the snowflakes at this year’s Winter Ball. Flowers and professional photos will be available for purchase. The evening will include dancing, light refreshments, and drawings.

The Winter Ball will take place at The Douglas County Events Center, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm this Saturday, February 4. Tickets are available for $15 per person.
