County has annual fair and rodeo

The 38th Annual Douglas County Fair and Rodeo will be coming to Castle Rock toward the end of July.

The 10-day event will offer animals, a carnival, competitions, food, kid activities music, a pro-rodeo, Junior Division Exhibitors and plenty of shopping at the Marketplace.

One highlight will be the annual Douglas County Fair Parade on Saturday, July 27th beginning at 9:30 am. It will run from Plum Creek, proceed down Wilcox Street to 4th and onto Perry Street ending on 2nd Street.

Chris Janson will be the music headliner performing with Double Wide on the 26th beginning at 7:30 pm.

Fans of music artists like him often go to their idol's website and purchase merchandise featuring the singer's Logo Design.

Another crowd favorite will be the annual Farm to Table brunch at the Whitman-Lowell Pavilion from 10:00 am to noon on Sunday, July 28th. Highlighting our rich ranching and agricultural heritage, the meal will be prepared with Douglas County sourced ingredients.

The 2024 Junior Livestock Sale at the Whitman-Lowell Pavilion on Friday August 2nd will begin at 6:00 pm with the Buyer BBQ beginning at 5:00 pm.

The 4-H Junior Division Competition will display cakes, leather working and other projects including the raising, caring and training of animals done by local youth.

The Douglas County Fair and Rodeo will take place July 26th through August 4th at 500 Fairgrounds Road.
