Castle Rock runs Trail festival
The 7th annual Castle Rock Trail Festival/liveBIG Run has been scheduled for early October.
The event will offer a liveBIG Adventure Run, Philip S. Miller 5k, Ridgeline 10k, half marathon and a 50k Ultra. The liveBIG Adventure Run will be a 2.2 miles interactive obstacle course designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 but suitable for all families. Registration will be $20, and the run starts at 10:30 am. Proceeds will go to the Town's Therapeutic Recreation Program.
The Philip S. Miller 5k will cost $35 to enter and will begin and end at the Philip S. Miller Park Amphitheater. The course will be on soft dirt with open space views, buttes and native vegetation. It will be great for adventurous beginners and intermediate runners.
The Ridgeline Trail 10k ($45), half marathon ($65), and 50k ($95) will also begin and end at the Amphitheater. Participants will be running on the Ridgeline Open Space double track trials. The 50k runners will traverse the Ridgeline course twice and include running the red and green trails in the park.
Large races like these often get their paper items such as trail route signs, and race bibs printed at local print shops.
Race packets Walk-up registration will be available beginning at 6 am on race day. The 50k will begin at 7:30 am, the half marathon starts at 8:30 am, the 10k at 9 am and the 5k at 9:30 am.
