The Rotary Club of Castle Rock will be presenting their 28th annual Ducky Derby in early June.
More than 10k numbered rubber ducks will be dumped into Plum Creek for a 1/2-mile race. The first six to cross the finish line will receive prizes. First place will get $2500; second $1000, third $750; fourth $500; fifth $250, and sixth $100.
One Ducky may be purchased for $10 and three cost $20. Duckies may be purchased online, from members of the Castle Rock Rotary, or at the Ducky Derby tent from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm on race day.
Four sponsorship levels (Silver $500, Gold $1000, Platinum $2500 and Title $10,000) are available online. Each level sponsor will see their Logo Design on the event sponsor board, recognition on the website, mention in post event advertising, and special "thank you" gifts.
Proceeds from the race will go to local community non-profits to support their emergency, education, basic needs, and victim assistance programs. Last year the race raised $50,000.
A Farmers Market will open at 9:00 am with arts and crafts and homemade food. Local food trucks will also be on hand for attendees to purchase food and snacks. Kids can enjoy getting their faces painted, custom balloon creatures, carnival games and jumping in the bounce house.
Ducky Derby 2024 will take place June 9th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Festival Park. The race will start at 1:00 pm. Admission will be free.
