Castle Rock 's You Can Live History will present its 21st Annual Colorado Centennial Homeschool Ball in mid-January.
This will be a family affair for teens 13 years and older, and their parents.
The theme for this year's ball will be Colorado's 16-year journey to statehood and will be celebrated with period costumes and dances. Skilled musicians will be playing common 1800's airs. Punch and cookies will be served.
A professional dance teacher will be teaching these steps along with 19th century American etiquette and culture the morning before the dance from 10:00 am to noon.
Check-in will be from 8:00 am to 9:30 am in the Events Center lobby. Saunders Rental will be renting costumes for $40 each in the lobby side rooms. The Center's Main Hall will hold the dance class, and the lobby will have activities, and history talks from noon to 5:00 pm. The young ladies' introductions will be in the Main Hall from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm, and the ball will be held from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Families that take pictures of members wearing costumes like this during events like this often take the pictures to local Print shops to be added to family Calendars and/or family newsletters.
The 21st Annual Colorado Centennial Homeschool Ball will take place Saturday, 10th January from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Events Center, 500 Fairgrounds Road.
