The 38th annual Douglas County Fair and Rodeo will be returning to Castle Rock beginning at the end of July.
Those who like animals will enjoy Discovery Ranch at Kirk Hall, The Kodiak Ranch Petting Zoo on the Midway, the Cattle Drive in downtown Castle Rock, Nature's Educators, and horse, goat, swine, sheep, lamb and beef shows and showmanship competitions.
A Hometown Rodeo, WPRA Barrel Racing Slack, ProRodeo Bares, Broncs and Bulls, ProRodeo Slack Steer Wrestling and Tie Down Roping, and mutton "bustin" will be throughout the fair at the Outdoor Arena.
On July 26th beginning at 9:30 am, the Douglas County Fair Parade will step off at the south end of downtown Castle Rock at Plum Creek turn right onto Wilcox turn right again onto 4th Street, right onto Perry and disband at 2nd Street.
A marketplace will be at the Events Center with artisans and crafters selling Western wear, accessories, bath and body, home decor, and Official Douglas County Fair and Rodeo merchandise. On August 1st the Center will feature A Creative Arts, Ag & Flori and 4-H General Project showcase.
Fairs that sell their own merchandise often go to local Print shops and have them create a Logo Design or a graphic design to put on their hats, clothing, and T-Shirts.
The Douglas County Fair & Rodeo will take place July 25th through August 3rd at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and Event Center, 500 Fairgrounds Road.
