Castle Rock will be dancing at a Winter Ball and biking at Pedal the Moon during February.
This year's annual Winter Ball will offer fun for the whole family with its "Roaring Twenties" theme, jazzy music for dancing, professional photo opportunities, and light refreshments. Female guests may want to appear in their flapper dresses while the gents sport their fedora hats.
Tickets are $18 per guest. Castle Rock's Winter Ball will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday, February 1 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in the James R. Sullivan Events Center.
Another family-friendly event will be Pedal the Moon, a three-hour nighttime six-mile bike ride from Philip S. Miller Park to Festival Park. The route will be on the East Plum Creek Trail.
Bikers are encouraged to decorate their bikes with lights and anything thing else they wish to display. A decorating station will be where Hangman's Gulch and East Plum Creek meet, at which glow-in-the-dark items will be available. Music, food, and giveaways will be at Festival Park.
Registration will be $14 for kids under 12 years old, $16 for seniors, and $18 for adults. This fee includes free chips, drinks, and hotdogs at Festival Park and T-Shirts.
Organizers of events like this often go to local Print shops to have the event's logo printed on their event T-shirts. Pedal the Moon will take place Wednesday, February 12 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
