Our annual Season of the Star, a celebration of lights and holiday spirit, is just around the corner.
On Saturday, November 23 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce will be presenting Starlighting in Downtown Castle Rock, with food, hot chocolate, live entertainment, nonprofit booths, and fireworks. The star lighting will take place at 5:30 pm.
A Festival Park Starlight Market will take place in Festival Park on Friday, December 6 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday, December 7 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
This craft and food market will have over 40 local vendors selling Christmas items, and guests may enjoy the 40-foot Christmas tree, holiday music, food from local food trucks, and hot cocoa.
On Saturday, December 7 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Philip S. Miller Park will hold its annual Reindeer Games. Kid-friendly activities will include viewing live reindeer, sipping hot chocolate, riding in the sleigh and train, running the obstacle course and competing in outdoor games.
Families who take their kids to see live reindeer often have pictures of them feeding the animals. These pictures occasionally go to Stationery printers to be made into Holiday Cards.
Finally, a free Storyteller and S’mores event will take place in Festival Park from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, December 14. Santa and friends will be sitting in the giant storytelling chair reading holiday favorites, and guests may roast marshmallows, drink hot chocolate, and eat s'mores.
