Wicked run to take place in Brighton

An upcoming road race in Brighton will look to showcase Colorado’s wine country as the Wicked Wine Run takes place.

The run will allow participants to take on a 5-kilometer route, which can be ran or walked, or a 1-kilometer “sampling” distance. The sampling walk will include three different wine tastings along the way from local wineries. Both distances will include a complimentary glass of wine at the end of the route along with a spirited after party with a live DJ and food trucks. Runners and walkers are encouraged to dress in their wildest outfits, with a costume contest among the after-race festivities. There will also be a dance competition with merchandise and wine as prizes.

Participants will receive a race packet as well as a complementary “goodie bag.” Athletic events like this often use promotional items like this to incorporate sponsors and help provide keepsakes of the occasion. Runners often also bring foldable chairs or blankets to the event to relax on the lawn. There are also spectator-only tasting tickets aimed at friends and family members who want to cheer on a runner from the sidelines. Similar runs take place across the country at locations like Richmond, Virginia and El Paso, Texas, often hosted by local wineries.

The 2025 Wicked Wine Run in Brighton will take place at Riverdale Regional Park on the afternoon of May 10.
