Jazz artists Jonathan Hoehn and Greg Nelson will be holding a special event in Brighton to launch their new multimedia project “If I Only Had a Brain.”
The event will begin with the screening of a short documentary, featuring the story behind Hoehn and Nelson’s album of the same name. The documentary is directed by award-winning filmmaker Peter Logue. The album is inspired by the duo’s friendship as well as their experience creating art while dealing with Alzheimer’s Syndrome and traumatic brain injury.
The short film will be followed by a full 90-minute concert featuring Hoehn’s trumpeting and Nelson’s piano, including new arrangements and selections from the album’s 13 tracks. The duo will be joined by other members of the Chesney Street Project jazz quartet to help bring the music to life. This will be a one-night-only show, creating a unique concert experience.
In addition to advertising the new album, “If I Only Had a Brain” aims to raise awareness of brain health, Alzheimer’s research, and stroke recovery. Album release events like this often use Promotional Products and merchandise such as T-Shirts to help further raise awareness of the project.
The screening and live performance of “If I Only Had a Brain” will take place on the evening of Friday, June 12 at the Armory Performing Arts Center in Brighton.
