Taking its name from the Norse god of winter, the festival encourages visitors to wear Viking outfits. The evening shows will take place under heated tents. This year’s musical performers will focus on the bluegrass genre, with the “UllrGrass All-Stars,” Tom Knowlton, Tyler Grant, and more. Other performers include Coral Creek and Becca Frazier.
In addition to music, the weekend will feature the UllrGrass Beer Festival on Saturday afternoon. Visitors can sample craft beer and cider from over 30 vendors, including breweries from all across the state. Park-only tickets are also available for those under 21, or who just want to listen to the music.
Sunday will be Family Day, with young visitors able to take part in crafts and games such as the UllrEgg Hunt. This will be the 12th annual edition of the event. Festivals like this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to help attract visitors from surrounding areas like Brighton and Denver. Event co-founder Susannah Thompson describes the event as a communal effort, and says:
“It takes a village to throw a festival with more than 100 volunteers and 50 plus local businesses working together to pull it off. Every year we are humbled by the collaboration of our town.”
The 2026 edition of UllrGrass will take place from January 30 to February 1 at Parfet Park in Golden, Colorado.
