The City of Brighton will be bringing back its popular Egg Splash event at the end of the month, aiming to provide a novel way to celebrate Easter and the start of spring.
The event is an aquatic twist on the classic Easter egg hunt. Decorated hard-boiled eggs will be scattered throughout the lap and leisure pools of the Brighton Recreation Centre. Children will have 30 minutes to swim and splash their way to fill a basket with eggs. They can then turn in these eggs for Bags of treats and other items.
Families must register in advance for a “wave” of egg seekers, with three waves on Saturday and five on Sunday. Adult chaperones can accompany their child for free, with a maximum of two per child. The pool and hot tub will be closed to other visitors during this time, while the sauna and steam room will remain open to regular use.
Egg Splash is one of several egg hunts being held for families in the Brighton and Denver area at the start of spring. Family holiday events like this often use colourful Signs and banner printing to help create a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The event has been held the past two years in Brighton.
The 2026 edition of Egg Splash will take place on March 28 and 29 at the Brighton Recreation Centre.
