Charity motorcycle ride coming to Brighton
The Sturgeon Electric Ride & Rally will be holding its 10th annual edition this year, kicking off in Brighton and biking through Colorado for a good cause.
The ride, also called the Poker Run, will consist of five stops, including in Longmont, Blackhawk, and Golden. Participants will pick up a playing card at each stop, and the rider with the best poker hands will win cash prizes. The final stop will also include food, live music, a silent auction, raffles and other celebration, with over thousands of dollars of prizes available. Prizes include a Broncos jersey signed by Peyton Manning, Blackstone grills, and Mizuno golf irons. The ride is organized by the Sturgeon Electric dealership in Brighton.
Money raised through the Ride & Rally will go to support the Freedom Service Dogs organization, which trains and provides assistance dogs for people with disabilities ranging from autism to multiple sclerosis. Riders are encouraged to make donations in the lead-up of the event. The Ride & Rally has been raising money for this cause over its past 9 events. Charitable events like this often use methods like poster printing and social media to reach participants and raise awareness in the community.
