Brighton theater group to bring Broadway home

The Platte Valley Players will be bringing back their annual Brighton on Broadway event this August, presenting favorite songs from the Great White Way from the best local performers.

The show will take the form of a revue featuring fully produced numbers from several popular Broadway musicals, including a local emcee, live musicians, and performers that may be familiar from the Players' previous productions. Tickets are available for the show itself, as well as a dinner beforehand provided by Scratch Catering, and there will be a cash bar open throughout the night. The event is a one-night-only production with limited tickets available.

Brighton on Broadway is the Platte Valley Players’ biggest annual fundraiser, with all money raised going to support the troupe’s programming throughout the year. The group hosts both children’s and adult shows, with full productions of Cabaret and The Little Prince coming in the autumn. Community theater groups like this often rely on local support, from businesses like Print shops and secondhand stores for advertising and props respectively.

Describing its mission, the group says:

“PVP is devoted to presenting stories that highlight our common humanity to entertain and challenge your mind and spirit.”

The 2024 edition of Brighton on Broadway will take place on the evening of Friday, August 16 at the Armory Performing Arts Center.
