The 5K Turkey Trot race will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in Brighton this November, with a long history of encouraging people to get ready for Thanksgiving with an athletic challenge.
The event covers a five-kilometer distance within the Brighton Recreation Center. While some participants will just be challenging themselves to complete the distance at a running or walking pace, others will be competing to finish with the fastest time. Early registrants will receive a T-shirt and breakfast at the event, with the top finishers taking home awards and prizes. Results will be sorted by age group and other categories to ensure that everyone has a chance to be recognized, with results posted online and available for a printed certificate. Finishing within a competitive timeframe will ensure qualification in one of the first waves of the Boulder event next summer.
The 2024 edition of the 5K Turkey Trot will take place at the Brighton Recreation Center on the morning of Saturday, November 23.
