Weekend at waterfront returns to Vallejo

The Vallejo Waterfront Weekend will be taking place this weekend.

This weekend celebrates the city and the waterfront, Solano County, and the historic significance of the Mare Island Naval Shipyard and is designed to showcase the reasons people work, live, and play in the community. It will be at Waterfront Park on Mare Island Way.

There will be a car show which will be opened to all makes and models of cars. The show is being sponsored by Boyz Under the Hood and proceeds from the show will go to Midsi Sanchez Foundation and Veterans Group. A panel of independent judges will be determining the awards among the vehicles.

Vendors will also be at the weekend with retail spaces and crafts featuring artist from Vallejo. Such vendors often turn to banner printing to promote the availability of their products and services. There will also be food trucks and resources from the community.

Also during the day will be a Whaleboat Regatta as well as a chili cookoff. There will be awards for presentation in the amount of $50, people’s choice in the amount of $75, and a grand prize winner for $100. Levels of sponsorships are available from $500 to $10,000.

The Vallejo Waterfront Weekend will be on Saturday October 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
