An innovative idea in fundraising is coming to Vallejo, and the local public is welcome to come and check it out for themselves.
This event will be the inaugural occasion for Vallejo SOUP, which will combine a potluck style mixer with helping to fund microgrants for an assortment of community-based projects. The plan is for each fundraiser to be held at a different venue in the city, and each will showcase the work of a local artist. Guests will be invited to socialize, and as a part of the agenda for the evening, there will be presentations that will let them learn more about the various organizations at work in the area.
The recipient of the funding from the function will be determined by a democratic vote by those who come out, and all are welcome to participate. The suggested donation per person is between $5 and $20, but any contribution will be appreciated. As the meal will be potluck, the attended are encouraged to bring along their favorite dish to show off and share. Flyer printing techniques can be used to craft effective marketing materials for this type of occasion.
This first ever Vallejo SOUP fundraiser will be taking place on April 5 in the Empress Theater Lounge. More details have been added to the event’s Facebook listing.
