Tax season is here again, and for those in Vallejo and other communities in Solano County, help is available in preparing their return if they feel they need it.
Tax-Aide, which is offered through the AARP along with the California Franchise Tax Board and the Internal Revenue Service, is free and can be accessed by people of any age.
Through the program, volunteers work with the public to provide them with assistance. Assistants are trained to provide individuals with the help they may need with their personal tax Forms, and they can also electronically file both their state and federal returns. Organizations can use poster printing can to create advertisements which can be placed throughout the community to let people know that they can access this type of assistance, should they need it.
Several sites have been set up throughout the county where the public can access these services. Though walk-ins may be accepted, it is recommended that people make appointments ahead of time. Those who wish to make use of the help will need to bring along their Social Security cards and identification, as well as their 1099 Forms, W-2 Forms, tax documents from last year, and any other materials they might have related to their taxes.
The program will run until April 15. Further information can be obtained in Vallejo by calling 643-1044 or by visiting the Tax-Aide site.Get a Free Quote for Forms
