Vallejo opens new affordable housing development

A temporary occupancy permit has been given to the Sacramento Street Project, also known as Blue Oak Landing, on Sacramento Street in Vallejo. New tenants will occupy 39 of the units, which accounts for 69 percent of the occupancy of the building.

Blue Oak Landing provides affordable and high-quality housing to families with lower incomes. There are 74 units that offer studios and apartments with one and two bedrooms. Those who qualify for living at the new apartment community need to earn between 20 and 40 percent of the median income in the area.

Individuals, families, and couples who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of experiencing homelessness are served by this development. A Housing First approach is being used, which will provide case management and on-site resident services. Other amenities include a community room with a kitchen that is fully equipped, laundry facilities, a computer learning center, an outdoor courtyard for gatherings, and a hot room.

The building will be managed by Eden Housing. Such companies can order Flyers and Brochures from a local Print shop to enable potential residents to learn more about the development and its services.

As of June, the new tenants have started to move in. As applications are approved in the upcoming weeks, the final units will be filled to bring the building to 100 percent occupancy.
