Vallejo museum to organize garden fundraiser

The Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum will be holding a tour this September that explores beautiful local gardens.

The 2020 Vallejo Garden Tour is a major fundraising event that lets people visit eight different gardens in the community. This year, the tour will include a welcoming habitat for butterflies and honey bees, a raised-bed vegetable garden, and two gardens located on Mare Island.

The Vallejo Garden Club will be attending the event as a vendor, and the Solano County Gardening Masters will be available to answer any questions people might have about maintaining their gardens.

The Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum supports the community by offering educational programs and exhibits. The money raised during the garden tours will help the museum continue to hold special events.

Those interested in giving additional support can become a member of the museum. Individual memberships can be bought for $35 and offer benefits like museum store discounts and free admission. Organizations such as this can thank benefactors by sending Corporate Gifts.

The garden tours will be held on Sunday, September 20 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets for the touring experience will cost each person $40. Those who purchase their tickets before August 29 can buy three tickets or the cost of two. The Vallejo Garden Club’s stall will be located in front of the museum during the event.
